Glass is endlessly recyclable but sadly most of it in the East village will end up in landfill due to a lack of recycling facilities. As a keen green parent and primary school teacher, I would like to change this for my family and my community.

The modern E20 apartments are all kitted out with four bins that are clearly designed for recycling yet seem pretty pointless given that unless one has a car it’s impossible to dispose of glass responsibly. Recycling shouldn’t be time-consuming or expensive. We can change this.

With a glass collection service in place, residents could easily recycle and put these bins to use. Newham council need to provide glass bottle banks on site and implement a glass collection service. The East villagers want to be greener. There is no planet B for our children.
