Why this petition matters

Started by Colin Jones

The Home Office want to deport my Elizabeth Gil Madrid. I am a British citizen and Firefighter in the London Fire Brigade where I served for 28 years. I met my wife in 2006 and married her in 2015. They refused to give her a visa saying that if we want to live together go to Bolivia. My wife was working, paying tax, national insurance and not claiming anything from this country and yet they said it was not in the interest of the UK. Now she cannot work and relies on me doing a second job. It would be impossible for me to go to Bolivia as I rely on my two jobs to provide income. I wouldn't have a job there. I have little knowledge of there language and the way of life there, and also my wife worries that I would be targeted and killed there, because of the crime rate. The whole situation is very stressful and upsetting for the both of us. If she is deported I don't know what I will do. She is such a rock for me, helping me deal with the fallout from those tough incidents I have at work and I love her so much. I only want us to have a normal life here, contributing to society, without the stress and anxiety we have now lived with for the past year.
