The 50 meter pool under the operation of Kan Pacific Saipan Ltd had closed on September 30, 2018. Based on the local newspaper, the CNMI Government and private companies are still in negotiation of the facility at Marpi property including 50m pool. It has been a week (it’s 10/7 today) since no chemical treatment which causes critically damage to water and pool.

However, swimmers are not giving up. They stared practicing at the beach until they get the pool back.

The manual and online petition of almost 14,000 signatures are submitted to the CNMI Government on October 4, 2018 but we will continue until we see our kids to be in that 50m pool and give us a smile. 

Please continue helping them by signing this petition in order to reopen the pool from discontinuation.

島内唯一の競技プールを、CNMI政府に代わり３０年以上運営して下さったマリアナリゾート＆スパが今月９月末で閉鎖になりました。まずはこれまでの多大なるサポートに心より感謝申し上げます。 

それによりサイパンで競泳を頑張っている子供達の練習場所がとうとう10月1日より無くなってしまいました。

プール閉鎖に伴い、10月4日にCNMI政府機関の代表者へ、前日までに集めたマニュアル＆オンライン14000署名を提出し、翌日トレス知事へ引き渡されました。

施設閉鎖後、CNMI政府と新規運営会社との間で交渉が行われているようですが、現段階でいつプールが再オープンするのか全くわからない状況です。ただ、子供達はまだプールに戻れることを諦めておらず、ビーチでの練習を開始しました。ただ、プールは9月30日以降一切管理はされておらず、長くなればなる程施設としてのダメージは計り知れません。

子供達がプールに戻り練習再開出来るその日まで、この嘆願書は継続していきますので、引き続き皆様からのご支援、ご協力を宜しくお願いします。
