Why this petition matters

Started by Schools Say Enough

The week of July 28 through August 4, 2019, our country saw four mass shootings. This does not include the shootings in Chicago on the weekend of Aug 3rd where eight were killed and 47 wounded. America continues to ignore the easy access and love affair with guns that has blood flowing on its streets. It is time to unite together to put pressure on Congress to stop ignoring this public health crisis and hold Congress accountable for not taking action in passing common sense gun safety laws.

We must demand that Congress pass legislation to guarantee our constitutional right to live!

Take the Schools Say Enough Sidewalk Challenge. All you need is a piece of chalk. Write the names of schools, victims, and survivors of gun violence or simply the word 'Enough.' Take a picture of your sidewalk chalk protest, post to social media, and nominate five friends to do the same.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead
