Why this petition matters

Started by Alison Lowther

The Scottish Natural Heritage have authorised the culling of ravens in Perthshire as part of a five year experiment to see if the breeding of another species of birds, called wader birds, would improve if there were less ravens around.

The killing of hundreds of ravens is part of “research to better understand” what animals and environments affect wader birds.

To propose culling these beautiful and intelligent birds as an experiment without any shred of evidence whatsoever is just plain wrong!

Animals and birds are not a threat to nature - they ARE nature! The royal society for the protection of birds has shown the negative factors affecting these wader birds are well understood, and there are ways to conserve these birds that wouldn’t involve murdering ravens - or any other animals.

Nature is perfectly capable of balancing herself so lets leave her be, after all she was doing fine till we came along!  SNH should be ashamed to even consider destroying such a vital part of our heritage.

Ravens are beautiful and intelligent birds. We cannot allow this to happen!

We don’t have much time to change SNH’s mind. So I urgently need your support now.
