Why this petition matters

Started by Krishna Nadoor

Dear Hon Scott Morrison,

Amazon.com is a source of products for many Australian shoppers which simply cannot be purchased from anywhere in Australia.

The Australian Amazon site only offers 13% of the products that the American site covers.

Many Australian e-commerce businesses depend on being able to access Amazon.com however these small businesses will have to close due to the new regulations on GST on goods less than $1000 purchased online.

It's likely that other international retailers, such as eBay, may potentially also shut up shop thereby reducing the market competitiveness and providing Australians with less options on where to shop.

Australia is a great and democratic nation, please stop these restrictive measures and provide Australians with the choice on where to shop.

Thank you.
