Why this petition matters

Started by Citizens of Curry County, NM

Currently there is no ordinance in place to protect the employees and residents from such an establishment. Human trafficking is rampant in the world, including the United States and New Mexico. Statistically, establishments such as these are magnets for all forms of criminal activity including prostitution, drugs, violence, etc. Regulations are needed to protect both the women and other employees, as well as the residents in the surrounding area.

If you are a resident of Curry County (to include Clovis, Texico, Melrose, Grady, and Broadview) please join us in speaking out in favor of regulations for sexually oriented businesses.

LET US BE CLEAR: WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, ARE VEHEMENTLY OPPOSED TO ANY SEXUALLY ORIENTED BUSINESSES COMING TO OUR COMMUNITY, BUT IF ONE OPENS, WE STRONGLY URGE OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE SUCH A BUSINESS.
