India is lagging behind in producing capable professionals and academicians. According to latest ranking issued by THE (Times Higher Education World University ranking) there is no Indian institution among top 200 institutions of excellence in the world. Only one institute i.e. IISc Bangalore finds place in the bracket of 251-300. Resulting in 29,500 unemployed educated youngsters being added daily in the society. The reason behind this unpleasant situation is lack of quality education, untrained teachers, organised cheating and malpractices during examinations.  Situation of education in largest populated state (UP) is very disappointing and ranks at 29th place in literacy rate. Despite lagging behind in primary and secondary education, the private institutions of higher education are mushrooming in Uttar Pradesh. Most of these institutes runs in makeshift campuses and without infrastructure and faculty thus becoming fertile ground for germination of nakal mafias. These nakal mafias are also supported by so-called teachers.

In such scenario, if somebody tries to do his part diligently, he is attacked by nakal mafia. An unfortunate, barbaric and gruesome incident took place in Agra on 26th September, 2017. Law examinations of self-financed institutes of Agra University commenced from 25.09.2017 and RBS College is nodal centre. Professor Prem Shanker Tiwari, of RBS College, Agra was made Senior Superintendent of these examinations. He implemented rules and regulations for conducting examinations in letter and spirit. During examinations a fellow teacher tried to overpower the whole system because of his vested interests when Professor Tiwari turned him down, he became furious and next day he was brutally attacked. Still he is struggling for life in Hospital.

The attack on Gandhivadi Professor Tiwari is not an isolated incidence, this shows the temerity of nakal mafias to threaten and deter every honest, dutiful and law abiding official for performing his duties. This incident has shaken belief of everyone in the system and it is required to be restored by way of swift, stringent and effective actions. Such rare type of academicians must be protected and education system required thorough cleansing.
