Please sign our petition to support the Hon Robert Brokenshire’s Private Members Bill which introduces a mandatory minimum sentence for serious domestic violence offences. Mr Brokenshire’s Bill imposes a minimum two year jail sentence for offenders who assault or cause physical or mental harm to a person they have a close personal relationship with. Importantly, under Mr Brokenshire’s Bill, the term of imprisonment cannot be suspended, substituted or reduced in any way.
Contact your local Member of Parliament in South Australia and let them know you support a tough stance on domestic violence and support Mr Brokenshire’s Bill.
