Why this petition matters

Started by Wayne Penn

We the undersigned strongly protest the proposal to close the clothing optional beach at Tyagarah, currently before Byron Shire Council. This is the only legally designated clothing optional beach for a stretch of 3,000 kilometres.

We wish to see the existing clothing optional beach retained and once again become a safe space for all beach goers. To achieve this, we believe that appropriate signage should be installed to highlight the designated clothing optional area and to warn about relevant penalties for inappropriate sexual conduct.

We further request that councillors enlist the community to participate in finding creative and effective solutions to deal with inappropriate behaviours currently being experienced by some beach users.
