With a successful reduction in use of plastic bags when the 5p charge came into force, we must now work towards eliminating the scourge of landfill sites polluting our countrysides by reducing and eventually banning use of all non recyclable packaging of our food and consumables. We must put pressure on our supermarkets and ultimately the government to enforce this. The technology is already available and new ones can be developed.  We must question the need for excessive packaging. We must protect earth's heritage. All it needs is a little forward planning.
