Please save the greyhounds and save the public image of Macau.

The Canidrome of Macau is sadly known in the whole world as a place of death, where no greyhound gets out alive. Even now, when the Canidrome is due to close by 2018, the dogs are still continuing to live in shameful conditions and to die without hope.

We hope that the public image that Macau would like to show the world is much better than an image of greyhounds caged, incinerated, or worse still destined for a horrific death, slaughtered and consumed as meat in some horrendous dog meat festival in China.

For what fate awaits the greyhounds in the Canidrome?
How many of them will be alive when it closes? What will happen to the survivors?

These are worrying questions, and the answers that are given will undoubtedly have an effect on how Macau is perceived and consequently on its touristic development.

We therefore ask that the Canidrome be closed as quickly as possible and that the greyhounds be handed over to the care of ANIMA Macau, so that their safety is assured and adoptive families can be found for them.
