We, the undersigned request the Sheffield City Council through its leader Councillor Julie Dore to add her voice with the British Kashmiris who campaign to achieve peace, justice and Right of Self-determination for the people in the disputed state of Jummu Kashmir. Ahead of commonwealth summit due to take place in London on 16 April we request you remind the heads of commonwealth countries of their longstanding and firm commitment to common universal values of democracy, human rights and the rule of law. Press them to find a peaceful solution to the Kashmir conflict where hundreds of thousands have been killed, women raped by paramilitary forces and hundreds of thousands have been displaced.
