This year, Governor Cuomo has included approximately $7M in the NYS Executive Budget (30-Day Amendments) for New York counties to offer early voting in the 12 days prior to Election Day. 

      The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors will consider a resolution to oppose early voting and automatic voter registration on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. 

       New Yorkers, like other Americans, juggle many of the demands of modern living - two working parents, single-parent households, people with multiple jobs or unconventional hours, and far-reaching family commitments.  But unlike Americans in thirty-seven (37) other states in the nation, New Yorkers do not have accessible and flexible options for early voting.   

    Tell the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors that you oppose their resolution. Sign my petition asking them to PASS A RESOLUTION ADVOCATING FOR NYS BUDGET FUNDING to enable counties to offer early voting.  

     According to a report issued by the Brennan Center for Justice, the benefits of Early In Person Voting (EIPV) include:

●  Greater Access to Voting and Increased Voter Satisfaction; 

●  Reduced Stress on the Voting System; 

●  Shorter Lines on Election Day; 

●  Improved Poll Worker Performance; and 

●  Prevention and Correction of Errors.

     A Siena poll from January 2018 shows that a majority of New Yorkers want early voting.  As noted by LetNYVote, “The convenience of Early Voting is popular with voters across the political spectrum​ ​as well as with both Republican and Democratic election administrators.”  The Siena poll shows that 65% of New Yorkers support some form of Early Voting no matter where they live:

● 61% of Upstate  ● 64% Suburbs  ● 69% New York City.
