Why this petition matters

Started by Gerard T Arbour

Kingston Road is a major thoroughfare through Scarborough and The Bluffs.

At this time, there is no full time daily dedicated TTC Bus Route along the length of Kingston Road in Scarborough. This is a major inconvenience for residents and visitors to south Scarborough, limiting ease and comfort of travel, requiring a transfer to commute along the length of the main Avenue in South Scarborough.

A full day dedicated Kingston Road Bus Route would ease commutes for many. It would be very helpful for those without cars, Students, and Seniors.  It would also greatly enhance the ability of residents to support local Kingston Road Businesses outside of there own Community, and would in turn facilitate future revitalization along Kingston Road in Scarborough.

ADDENDUM:   On October 9, 2018 a one year trial TTC service was initiated on Kingston Road from Victoria Park Station to University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. Operating weekdays between 6:00 - 9:00 a.m and 3:00 - 7:00 p.m.  This was only a good start. Full day and 7 day a week service will give the appropriate level of service on Kingston Road in South Scarborough for better transit, better support of Kingston Road Businesses and Kingston Road revitalization efforts.

By adding your name to this petition, a louder voice will hopefully be heard to:

1. Highlight the continuing limitations of current TTC Bus Route service along Kingston Road in Scarborough for residents, visitors, businesses and revitalization efforts

2. Initiate efforts directed towards the reintroduction of a full day, 7 day a week dedicated TTC Kingston Road Bus Route in Scarborough.
