Basingstoke Transition Network and Friends of the Earth have been monitoring the amount of air pollution in Basingstoke. This shows that in some parts of our Town air pollution is potentially above the legal safe level.

Our monitoring confirms the Council's own figures which also show that in at least one area of the Town air pollution is already above legally safe levels.

We are asking the Council to;

1. Expand the amount of air pollution monitoring they carry out to cover all likely affected areas.

2. Develop a clear plan for cleaning up our air.

3.  Assess the impact on air quality of all new developments before they are granted planning permission.

Please sign our petition and write to our MP – Maria Miller - and your local Councillor demanding that action is taken to clean up the air we breathe.
