Save the Olympic Superdrome in Frisco!!!
Save the Olympic Superdrome in Frisco!!!
Why this petition matters
We have just received word that the management contract for the Olympic cycling track, the Frisco Superdrome, is ending December 31, 2017.
This 250 meter track was built in 1998. It’s one of the few Olympic style velodromes in the United States. It’s been used for Olympic trials, a World Cup, and national championships. Because of the steep 44.5 degree banks, riders can reach record speeds.
the best thing about the track is anyone can ride it, even kids!! You just have to take a development class. What an incredible opportunity and what an incredible waste to see this jewel shut down.
I am asking fellow cyclists to come together and bring finances and resources to keep The Superdrome open instead of letting it be destroyed.
If the city of Frisco and Collin county college choose to close the gates, I ask that as a last resort, it be disassembled and moved to a municipality where it can be utilized and maintained.
Thank you for your consideration,
Abbey Robinson
