Στις 23 Δεκεμβρίου 2020 ο Şener Levent, προσήχθη σε “δικαστήριο” σε μια διαδικασία για προσαγωγή σε δικαστήριο στην Τουρκία. Οι κατηγορίες εναντίον του απορρέουν απο τρία άρθρα του στην εφημερίδα που εκδίδει:

• Οι Κούρδοι κι εμείς, 1 Ιουνίου 2016
• Zorba the Cypriot, 1 Φεβρουαρίου 2018, και
• η γνωστή υπόθεση με το σκίτσο, 8 Δεκεμβρίου 2017 (αυτό για το οποίο, κατόπιν προτροπής του Erdogan, επιχειρήθηκε από μπράβους της Τουρκίας και Γκρίζους λύκους, λιντσάρισμα του Σιενέρ και άλλων δημοσιογράφων. Τελικά δεν τα κατάφεραν αλλά κατέστρεψαν το γραφείο της εφημερίδας)

Οι κατηγορίες αφορούν την εξύβριση του Προέδρου της Τουρκίας και προνοείται φυλάκιση μέχρι και τεσσάρων χρόνων. Προφανώς, ο ίδιος ο Ερντογάν κινεί τα νήματα από το παρασκήνιο. Επιβάλλεται, επομένως, η ανανέωση της στήριξής μας για να αποφευχθεί η παραπομή, δίκη και καταδίκη του στην Τουρκία.
Ο Şener Levent είναι πολίτης της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας. Το ότι ζεί στα κατεχόμενα δέν του αναιρεί την ιθαγένειά του. Επί πλέον είναι βραβευμένος Ευρωπαίος Πολίτης από το Ευρωκοινοβούλιο. Απαιτούμε όπως, η κυβέρνηση της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας προβεί άμεσα στις αναγκαίες ενέργειες για την προστασία του πολίτη της και συμπατριώτη μας Şener Levent, κάτι που θα έπρεπε να είχεν ήδη κάμει αυτεπάγγελτα.

Πρέπει να ενημερωθούν οι πρεσβείες ξένων χωρών στην Κύπρο για την προσπάθεια κατάφορης παραβίασης του δικαιώματος της ελευθερίας του λόγου και προσπάθεια φίμωσής του εν λόγω δημοσιογράφου. Επίσης, οι πρεσβείες μας στο εξωτερικό πρέπει να κάνουν σχετική διαφώτιση/ενημέρωση για το πώς ενεργεί η ισλαμοφασιστική Τουρκία.

Συμπληρωματικά και επιπρόσθετα, θα πρέπει να εξεταστούν πρακτικοί τρόποι προστασίας του σε περίπτωση που η Τουρκία, μέσω των υποτακτικών της στα κατεχόμενα, επιχειρήσει την μεταφορά του στην Τουρκία για να δικαστεί εκεί.

Όταν αρχίσαμε αυτήν την προσπάθεια πρίν 3 σχεδόν χρόνια, σημειώναμε:

Η ελευθερία του λόγου δέν γίνεται ανεκτή από τους ισλαμοφασίστες στην κατεχόμενη βόρεια Κύπρο.Από το 1974, το βόρειο τμήμα της Κύπρου κατέχεται στρατιωτικά από την Τουρκία, η οποία ελέγχει τα πάντα.
Ο Σιενέρ Λεβέντ είναι ένας Τουρκοκύπριος δημοσιογράφος που δέν μασά τα λόγια του. Γι αυτόν, η τουρκική κατοχή είναι άγρια κατοχή και όχι σωτηρία ή ειρήνευση. Οι φασίστες, όπως οι Γκρίζοι Λύκοι και το ισλαμοφασιστικό καθεστώς του Ερτογάν τον βλέπουν ως βλέπει ο "ταύρος το κόκκινο πανί". Θέλουν να τον σιγήσουν και οι απειλές τους πρέπει να ληφθούν σοβαρά υπόψιν. Τέτοιοι νταήδες τύποι είναι επικίνδυνοι και οι δολοφονίες δέν αποκλείονται από τις τακτικές τους.
Η συμπαράστασή μας στον Λεβέντ είναι απαραίτητη!

Sener Levent kelimelerini cignemeyen bir Turk Kibrisli gazetecidir Onun icin Turk isgali vahsi bir isgaldir Kurtulus ve barisal degildir. Fasist Erdogan rejimi ile bozkurt denilen fasist islamcilar onu boganin hedefinde olan kirmizi bez olarak goruyorlar. Onu ortadan kakdirmak istiyorlar ve ona karsi edilen tehditlerin ciddiye alinmasi gerekiyor. Boyle tip dayilar tehlikeli ve suikastlerin cinayetlerin taktiklerinde eksik olmayan kisilerdir.

On December 23, 2020, Şener Levent was summoned to "court" in a procedure aiming at a court case in Turkey. The charges against him stem from three of his articles in the newspaper he publishes:

• The Kurds and us, June 1, 2016
• Zorba the Cypriot, February 1, 2018, and
• the well-known case with the sketch, December 8, 2017 (the one for which, at Erdogan's urging, an attempt was made, by Turkish thugs and Gray Wolves, to lynch Şener and other journalists. In the end, they did not succeed but destroyed the newspaper office)

The indictment is about insulting the President of Turkey and may incur imprisonment for up to four years. Apparently, Erdogan himself is moving the threads behind the scenes. It is therefore necessary to renew our support in order to avoid his transport, trial and conviction in Turkey.

Şener Levent is a citizen of the Republic of Cyprus. The fact that he lives in the occupied area does not deprive him of his citizenship. He is also an award-winning European Citizen by the European Parliament. We demand that the Government of the Republic of Cyprus immediately take the necessary steps to protect its citizen and our compatriot Şener Levent, something they ought to have already done on their own initiative.

The embassies of foreign countries in Cyprus must be informed about the attempted blatant violation of the right to freedom of speech and the attempt to silence this journalist. Also, our embassies abroad must provide relevant enlightenment/information on how Islamo-fascist Turkey acts.

In addition, practical ways of protecting him should be considered in the event that Turkey, through its subordinates in the occupied area, attempts to transfer him to Turkey to be tried there.

When we started this endeavor almost 3 years ago, we noted:

Speaking up your mind is not tolerated by the islamofascists in occupied Northern Cyprus.
The Northern part of Cyprus is occupied militarily and in every other aspect by Turkey since 1974.
Sener Levent is a Turkish Cypriot journalist who does not mince his words. For him Turkish occupation is brutal occupation and not benevolence or peace making. For fascists, like the Grey Wolves, and Erdogan's islamofascist establishment he is like the red cape to a bull. They want to silence him and their intimidation should be taken seriously; these guys are bullies and even killing is not excluded from their tactics.
Our support to Levent is absolutely necessary!
