This is to challenge the cannabis monopoly and unfair restrictions on medical use
Why this petition matters
On December 12 2017 the Canadian goverment passed the Cannabis Act. Which gives the provincial goverments a monopoly of sales of Cannabis starting Jul 1st. This petition proposes boycotting the Ontario Cannabis Retail Corp. And their propoused inhumane descriminatory practices.
The practices that should be challenged are:
- Cannabis use restricted to homes. This is discrimination and has to change, medication has to be allowed anywhere. If people are allowed to smoke cigarettes and vape in public places so should cannabis users be allowed.
- Price no different than black market. Making the price the same as the black market price will not prevent underground sales and discriminates agaist those with limited incomes. A price reduction of just a couple of dollars will increase sales and make a dent on illigal market.
- Self-serving has to be implemented. Those who suffer from anxiety and socially limiting conditions should not be descrimited agaist. Vending machines with pre-packaged product are common in other Cannabis points of purchase and should be installed inside the shops.
Please support this petition and let our goverment know the will of their people.
