Petition update

Patreon fees: thanks to you, we've WON - and so have creators everywhere

Patreon have just announced that they are NOT rolling out their new fee system. Nearly ten thousand of you supported our petition: many of you and many more besides have been tweeting, sending feedback, emailing, calling, and of course working to find alternatives and change pledges. And it worked. We won. We won because you and people like you worked together on behalf of small creators. Whatever changes Patreon may or may not make in future, and whether or not you personally stick with them as a platform after this, together we laid down a marker here that when fans and creators work together, we can win, and that's something that's worth knowing and remembering for the future. Thank you all for being part of this, and I hope that in organising this petition and writing guides to alternative funders and so on I've managed to do something useful in helping you guys keep contributing to and creating the things you love. It's been an honour to stand with you all on this. Very many thanks, James Baillie (Petition Organiser) P.S. If you're still undecided what to do about any aspect of the changes, or if there's anything I can do to advise or help, the exilian.co.uk webforums or my Twitter account @JubalBarca are good ways to reach me and I'm happy to do my best to help. Best of luck and best wishes!
